Untitled Study, 2025

Handwoven copper wire, solid copper bullets, patinated copper, red embroidery thread on linen

18 × 24 inches

This mixed-media textile work integrates solid copper bullets directly into a fabric of handwoven copper wire. Upon completion, the work was treated with a green patina solution and allowed to oxidize over several weeks. This process created areas where the weaving deteriorated (rusted/oxidized). The work was then embroidered with red thread onto a linen canvas.

This  study is a companion piece to my series, Studies in Futility, which investiges the cultural and political complexities surrounding gun violence and control in America.
